The Dilemma of Finding Support Staff

Believing in yourself is not always easy inĀ  the real world of neurotypicals when you have autism. Mainly it is hard to believe in the careful intent of the kindness of others. Frankly it is a dilemma when looking for new support staff. Justly I need to know if the individual likes me for who I am, or for the experience to work with autism and get training. Really I don’t want to be a guinea pig but it is hard to find people who have experience with people like me.

I have felt the same way Jeremy in trying to find a decent therapist for my daughter. Does the individual generally care for her well being and willing to go the extra mile to help her thrive or Becci just another pay check? It’s a frustrating, confusing, dilemma.

What a wonderful day to have discovered Jeremy. I am in a real estate related business in PA and your Aunt, Kathie, and I just hung up the phone on a business matter and we got talking about Autism. I am the very proud mother of twins with Autsism and we got talking about all the struggles and worries a mother has. That’s when Kathie couldn’t stop talking about your wonderful mother and your determination. I can’t wait to read more on this web site and your mom’s. But for now now let me just say this is the best Valentine’s Day ever because my heart is uplifted from discovering YOU! Keep up the good work and the pursuit of your dreams…..Ann
